Lunch at Taco Bar, Sweden

First taco set meal bought from food court at a family mall on the way from Stockholm to Orebro

Second taco meal at a food court in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Unfortunately, the quality of the foods were not consistent.
This ones were the worst, dry taco shells, fillings were not juicy and ungenerous!

Taco bar at Orebro, Sweden. I had these a few days before i left Orebro.
This was as good as i remembered, just lacked of greens (parsley).
Taco consisted of juicy meats, cheese, onion and parsley.
There were about 7 choices from pork, chicken to beef which each had different sauces/spice/ingredients to cook with.

Taco has officially become one of my favourites!!!!!!

While living in Malaysia my entire life, I have never ever tasted a true taco!
Well, I have tried some great tacos in Singapore Clarke Quay but that were quite costly and not entirely convenient to go.

Anyway, as you may see, I made the initiative to visit Taco Bar for 3 times in Sweden.
This could mean only one thing - I REALLY LOVE TACOS! yum!
I would die to visit Taco Bell in US lol

Taco Bar can be found in Sweden in most food courts and sometimes an independent restaurant/bar.
The food quality and consistency can be, at times, disappointing but I'm still loving it.
There are other foods such as burgers, salad, wraps, quesadilla etc but not as tempting as taco.

Restaurant: Taco Bar
Prices: $89 for a taco set menu (including a soft drink and nacho)
           $15 for a taco

Teatime at Café Husaren in Gothenburg, Sweden

The size of the cinnamon roll is bigger than my face! Or any other giant size plate.

Giant cinnamon roll in Café Husaren. That was my portion after a great 10 mins of munching.

Hej då! This is Haga Nyata!
Haga Nyata is popular as its nearby a university, there are secondhand book stores, fashion clothing stores, modern miscellaneous stores, café, old century buildings, etc.
A great spot for tourists and youngsters!

I was there in early April after a pouring rain.
While strolling around Haga Nyata, the street was clear, wet, kind of empty on a working day.
I happened to pass by this popular café and entered it without realising.

There were other bakeries offered such as chocolate cookies, varieties of pies, salad, sandwiches at the bakery counter. But me being me! I ordered the giant cinnamon roll and asked for a water (cheapo)
Swedes are quite generous with displaying fancy cube brown sugar, black pepper, fancy honey at a counter in the cafe. But I'm Asian hahaha so seeing these I simply added honey in the water without thinking much.

The cinnamon roll is great, tasted very bread ish, sprinkled pearl sugars on top.
I generally love all breads in Sweden cafés!
That was the street view that I had while munching...
Customers were sat inside enjoying their meals while i had to choose sitting outside bearing the cold.

Location: Haga Nyata, Gothenburg, Sweden
Prices: $40 - $80 kronor

Dinner at Burger King, Gothenburg, Sweden

$8 / $10 kronor for cheeseburger (small)

It was the second night in Gothenburg.
We couldn't really afford expensive meal at the restaurant so fast food chains became first choice to us!

Netherlessly, burgers at Europe tasted really good!!
The meat patty was well decent in size, much juicy and tasted more originally BBQ meat compare to any other fast food chains in Malaysia.

No complain! duh

Restaurant: Burger King
Location: Nordstan mall, Gothenburg, Sweden
Prices: $60 - $80 kronor for a set meal (including soft drink and fries)

Hotel Review - Hotel Robinson AB / Palace, Gothenburg, Sweden

Let the pictures speak for itself!

This hotel lobby was awesome!!! It was kind of dark inside with sunlight streaming in the window that made it comfortable and a whole. However, this might be a temporary hotel lobby as the hotel is still under renovation, at the same time, open for business.
No worries, there's no noise or dusty whatsoever while we were staying there.

The location of the hotel is more than great! Location 10 mins walk from the central train station/bus station and 5 mins walk to popular shopping spots Nordstan.
Basically just walk toward the shopping spots to your right where it links to train/bus station.
Its very very convenience and the hotel is like the cheapest among the others.

Prices: $600 - $750 kronor for 2 persons per night according to seasons
Comment: The hotel room was fine, rollable bed mattress, small TV, wifi and private bathroom.
But the lobby and dining place were amazing, very comforting and classy.
There are free Nepresso coffee and quality tea provided at the lobby.
Breakfast price: $79 kronor per person (As I remember)

Breakfast at Hotel Robinson AB / Palace, Gothenburg, Sweden

Free breakfast on the first morning staying at Hotel Robinson AB, also known as Palace Goteborg.
This hotel was probably named as Hotel Robinson AB but now changed to Palace Goteborg.
However, while i was searching hotel at booking.com, this hotel was still named under Hotel Robinson AB instead of Palace.
That got me confused while looking for the hotel on my first day arrival.

The breakfast served was typically European style for tourists.
I had a bit of cereal with yogurt, sandwiches, orange juice and a half boiled egg sprinkled with corse black pepper.

There were basket of a range of breads and coffee and tea on the other side.
In Europe, open sandwich is commonly served and found in cafes.

Everything was yummy! except for Salami, I was trying it as if it was the first time tasted in my mouth.
It tasted raw-ish, a bit fishy which i didn't quite like it but eatable.
Im typically very open to try any kind of foods. maybe NOT all. HAHA

Dinner at Khau Geng, Gothenburg, Sweden

On the same day after having fried herring for lunch, we went to dinner at Khau Geng for a try.
It was more like western-chinese rather than Thai food. As a born Malaysian Chinese, I can certainly tell you the right Asian cuisine.

There were 5 foods set menu to choose from chao mien to rice with fried prawn and chicken, rice with chicken satay and rice with vegetable curry.

I chose chao mien set menu that included a can of coke. There were also free buffet style of Asian prawn chips and salad displayed at the order counter. Apparently, this kind of side dishes such as chips, salad are commonly found in Swedish Asian/Chinese restaurants for FREE! Sometimes the side dishes are including Swedish biscuit, canned fruits, mixed salad etc.

Anyway, the only Thai style used in the foods were the sauces.
The sauces were made in Thailand, Asian-ish.
Would you consider the foods as Thai food when they only use Thai sauce in the foods like sprinkle / simply add in Thai sauce in the cooking process?

Restaurant: Khau Geng
Location: Arkaden, Gothenburg, Sweden (located in the mall, city)
Opening hours: Same as the mall opening hours i assumed.
Prices: $65 kronor for a set

Lunch at Strömmingsluckan in Gothenburg, Sweden

The popular food cart selling fried herring!

Delicious fried herring with mash potato and lingonberry sauce
The mash potato is surprising light and creamy, fresh lingonberry sauce and fried herring tasted mild, fresh with little of tiny fish bones, no biggie! ITS SO SO GOOD!
I guess the bad thing was that they didn't provide table nor chair, which I eventually ate it somewhere in the street.

Basically you can't leave Sweden without trying their popular fish - herring!
I visited Gothenburg in early April 2014 for 4 days & 3 nights. After doing some research on popular food to try in Gothenburg, I have promised myself to find this popular Strömmingsluckan street food cart.

The food cart was located in a parking lot space (just empty space) where there were also another food cart beside and a modern miscellaneous shop.

This is the other street food cart on the front right. I didn't give it a try cause i was so full. He was selling hot dog and burger that looked quite good!

Anyway,
